What Happens in Vegas… Updates to Hemp Law in Nevada

The old saying may be “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” but we are excited to announce that the new hemp law allows industrial hemp to LEGALLY be grown and harvested for the purpose of research in the great state of Nevada. And that research and subsequent data will in fact be shared with the entire country.

Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval has signed the bill giving colleges, universities, and the state Department of Agriculture the right to grow industrial hemp for research purposes.

Cultivating industrial hemp for research will provide the necessary information our government has required to understand the full impact and benefit that industrial hemp can provide.

The Industrial Hemp Research Foundation, based in Colorado has been spearheading the data collected and the special projects developed around the study of industrial hemp. It is exciting to think that right here in our backyard (Hemp Inc. is based in Nevada) we will also be able to participate actively in research projects related to industrial hemp according to the new hemp law.

The mission of the Industrial Hemp Research Foundation is to:

“… increase the body of knowledge and raise public awareness of the many known and potential applications of industrial hemp to improve living standards, create jobs, safeguard the environment and enhance the quality of life for all people.”

Let’s repeat the benefits of industrial hemp farming:

  • Improve living standards
  • Create jobs
  • Safeguard the environment
  • Enhance quality of life

What other crop can you point to that offers so many life altering advantages? Not to mention the over 20,000 actual uses for the plant itself.

We are excited here at Hemp, Inc. headquarters and hope you are to.

By the way, if you are in one of the many states with legislature on the books for a hemp law that has not yet been approved as it relates to industrial hemp farming and research; contact your state government officials and ask that they support these efforts.
