CNN’s Sanjay Gupta Follows in the Footsteps of Hemp, Inc.’s Pioneering Work

LAS VEGAS, Aug. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP), a leader in the cannabis industry, has been on the forefront of film production surrounding the hemp movement since its inception. In fact, Hemp, Inc.’s production company, Marijuana Inc. TV (www.MarijuanaInc.tv) was among the first to interview Chaz Moore back in 2012 and give its support of medicinal marijuana usage, along with its support of the Cash Hyde Foundation and ongoing educational efforts, to not only educate the public on the difference between hemp and marijuana, but also to educate the public on the true medicinal value of cannabis.

Chaz Moore is one of the few people in the world diagnosed with the rare condition, Myoclonus Diaphragmatic Flutter, and will be featured, again, on Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s documentary entitled, “WEED”, airing on CNN Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 8pm EST. (See Chaz Moore’s earlier interview with Hemp, Inc.’s Marijuana TV). After high doses of ineffective Diazepam (commonly known as Valium), Morphine and Xanax, and more, Chaz’s father, Shan, after months of research, decided to try medical marijuana. “It worked. I call it a miracle drug,” saidShan Moore.

And now a year later, “Hemp, Inc. salutes Dr. Gupta for his research into the marijuana debate and his bravery in publicly reversing his views,” said CEO, Bruce Perlowin. “We have long been traveling the country and filming individuals such as Chaz Moore, who have benefited from the use of medical marijuana as well as the brave individuals who have been on the frontline of the movement, like the legendary activist and advocate in the cannabis reform movement, Steve DeAngelo. I believe the star power of CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta, now, will really bring this message to the masses.”

The truth is that medical marijuana and even the benefits of Industrial Hemp have been systematically misleading. One key point, Gupta brought up in a recent interview, and shedded light on, was the distorted picture painted on medical marijuana. “The government says there are no medical benefits, but then the United States, through its Department of Health and Human Services, has a patent (U.S. Patent 6630507) on marijuana as an anti-oxidant and neuroprotectant in the brain,” says Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

The facts and research are clear and exact, however, most of the public like Dr. Gupta was unaware of the research that has been done over the last 5 decades.

“I believe in people and planet first, profit second (and doing it this way actually ends up earning more profits). Hemp, Inc., as the first publicly-traded company, has long since been a leader in the industry,” says Perlowin. “Industrial Hemp is off the charts in its applications and potential. From textiles, to clothing, to superfoods, hemp oil, protein, to paper, to building materials… the possibilities are endless for this incredibly renewable, sustainable, resource called Industrial Hemp.”

Hemp, Inc.’s TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE

Hemp, Inc. (OTC: HEMP) seeks to benefit many constituencies, not exploit or endanger any group of them. Thus, the publicly-traded company believes in “upstreaming” of a portion of profit from the marketing of their finished hemp goods back to its originator. By Hemp, Inc. focusing on comprehensive investment results—that is, with respect to performance along the interrelated dimensions of people, planet, and profits— our triple bottom line approach can be an important tool to support sustainability goals.
