How Hemp, Inc. Measures Up to the U.S. Natural Fiber Composites Industry

LAS VEGAS, NV–(Marketwired – May 12, 2016) – Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) executives announce today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC (IHM), a soon-to-be leading producer of better quality natural fiber and other cellulose-based products for major growth markets, expects to rank among the top companies of natural fiber producers in the United States. According to “Global Natural Fiber Composite Market 2015-2020: Trends, Forecast, and Opportunity Analysis,” a recent report on the natural fiber composites market, demand for lightweight and environmentally sustainable composite materials has increased thereby creating the need for more producers of natural fiber composites.

With the largest multi-purpose industrial hemp decortication facility in the United States, Hemp, Inc. expects to capture a large share of the natural fiber composites market. The industry’s projected growth is a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.2% through year 2020. “This creates tremendous opportunity for Hemp, Inc. and its subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC (IHM). Hemp is becoming one of the most sought after raw materials and Hemp, Inc. has the largest, commercial multi-purpose decortication plant in the U.S. to process that natural fiber,” says Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP).

North America accounts for a large share of the Natural Fiber Composites market. According to the report, the demand for more ecofriendly materials from the construction and automotive industries, specifically, has created the surge. DEFRA (Department of Environment Food & Rural Affairs) reported, “Almost 1.5 million vehicles included applications for natural fibers such as kenaf, jute, flax, hemp and sisal in combination with thermoplastic polymers such as polypropylene and polyester. The demand for natural fiber composites in North America is projected to continuously increase in the near future on account of significant performance at lower prices of natural fiber composites in automotive and construction applications driven by regulatory standards recommending the use of lightweight and recyclable materials.”

Hemp, Inc. has been likened, by many shareholders and supporters, to global natural fiber composites industry players such as FlexForm Technologies, Procotex Corporation SA, and GreenGran BV, to name a few. FlexForm, for example, formulates natural fiber composites from a blend of kenaf, hemp, flax, jute and sisal and thermoplastic polymers such as polypropylene and polyester and is currently found in over a million vehicles in the United States.

According to another April, 2016 report, “Natural Fiber Composites Market“, The demand for natural fiber composites in the construction industry for outdoor deck floors, railings, fences, landscaping timbers, park benches, window and door frames, and indoor furniture has grown remarkably on the global platform. This is due to their superior strength-to weight ratio, recyclability, and low cost. Further, natural fiber composites are becoming popular and essential for making automotive components such as seatbacks, parcel shelves, boot linens, front and rear door linens, truck linens, and door-trim panels due to their lightweight and increased fuel efficiency.” Hemp and flax fiber have replaced glass in a number of components, especially in the German automotive industries.

David Schmitt, COO of Hemp, Inc.’s Industrial Hemp Manufacturing LLC said, “While we continue to get the decortication plant in Spring Hope, North Carolina operational, we are releasing our first super absorbent, environmentally friendly product, SpillSuck™. It’s made from the core of kenaf and hemp plants and is one of the world’s most absorbent natural materials used primarily for oil, chemical and other liquid spills.” Schmitt informed Hemp, Inc. executives that the company’s first 25,000 pounds of SpillSuck™ are in the final stages of packaging.

After the release of SpillSuck™, Hemp, Inc.’s (OTC PINK: HEMP) next product-to-market will be its DrillWall™, commonly referred to as “loss circulation material” or (LCM). It’s a micronized plant cellulosic material that is a natural non-toxic antimicrobial. LCMs are used as a drilling fluid, as well as a lubricating agent, a torque and drag reducer, in order to prevent differential sticking. Mainly utilized by oil and drilling companies, LCMs quickly seal highly permeable formations of fractured shale, sand or pre-salt during the drilling process. Moreover,Hemp, Inc.‘s LCM, DrillWall™, can be used with all types of drilling fluids such as water-based, oil-based, or synthetic.

Hemp, Inc.’s, much anticipated, third product to go to market will be fiber… in large quantities. Initially, the company plans to provide kenaffiber which can be used for paper, grass mats, fiberglass substitutes, animal bedding, oil-absorbent materials, chicken and cat litter, animal forage, particle board, potting soil, and more. Once the North Carolina Industrial Hemp Commission creates the guidelines for the cultivation of hemp, hemp fiber will be processed in massive quantities for distribution.

Craig Perlowin, Secretary of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) said, “As soon as our multi-purpose decortication plant becomes fully operational, we expect to be the largest producer of products and raw materials with a broad range of applications and uses in a variety of growth industries. Our environmentally friendly, super absorbent product, SpillSuck™, our Loss Circulation Material (LCM), Drillwall™, our fiber and other upcoming products will put us at a distinct advantage. Hemp, Inc. is focused on being part of the Avant-guard of the new clean green American industrial hemp and agricultural revolution.”

Hemp, Inc. executives have been in conversation with clothing manufacturers and building material companies, among others, interested in its fiber as soon as it is available.

With an array of natural environmentally friendly products to come and the largest commercial multi-purpose decorticating plant in the United States, Hemp, Inc. has positioned itself as a leader in the agricultural industrial hemp industry that has emerged. Overwhelming benefits of industrial hemp continue to unfold. The industrial hemp industry is growing by leaps and bounds as Americans gravitate toward more sustainable living.

ABOUT INDUSTRIAL HEMP
When it comes to environmental impact, industrial hemp is a crop that can actually give back to the earth. It takes less water to grow and process, is less polluting from pesticides and can actually help rebuild depleted soil. A hemp crop requires half the water alfalfa uses and can be grown without the heavy use of pesticides. According to a USDA report in 2000, industrial hemp is not very susceptible to widespread disease. Most contagion can be controlled through seed treatment before planting. Additional research has shown that industrial hemp can be used for phytoremediation of polluted environments and significantly detox toxic soil.

Hemp is a durable natural fiber that is grown as a renewable source for raw materials that can be incorporated into thousands of products. It’s one of the oldest domesticated crops known to man. Hemp is used as a nutritional food product for humans and pets, building materials, paper, textiles, cordage, organic body care and other nutraceuticals, just to name a few. It has thousands of other known uses.

U.S. SOON TO REACH THE HALFWAY MARK OF MEDICAL MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION

The Ohio House of Representatives approved House Bill 523, on Tuesday, approving medical marijuana use for people with qualifying medical conditions with a doctor’s recommendation. The bill, passed in a 71-26 vote, now heads to the Ohio Senate. If Ohio legalizes medical marijuana, exactly half of the United States will have done so. According to news sources, “It’s a historic vote for the conservative legislature, putting Ohio one step closer to becoming the 25th state to legalize marijuana in some form.” Thus far, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, and the nation’s capital, District of Columbia have legalized medical marijuana. From source Procon.org, as of April, 2016, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, South Carolina, and Tennessee have pending legislation or ballot measures for 2016.
