Ohio Board Certifies Industrial Hemp Amendment While Hemp Research Bill Gains Traction in Pennsylvania

LAS VEGAS, NV–(Marketwired – Apr 18, 2016) – Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) executives are pleased to announce that the Ohio Ballot Board certified the proposed constitutional amendment known as the “Medicinal Cannabis and Industrial Hemp Amendment” to potentially go on Ohio’s ballot as a single issue. According to the Ohio Secretary of State, Jon Husted, petitioners will need to collect over 305,591 signatures from registered Ohio voters by July 6, 2016 in order for the measure to go on the November ballot. The signatures must also be from at least 44 of Ohio’s 88 counties and the signatures within each of those counties must “equal to 5% of the total vote cast for governor in the most recent gubernatorial election (2014).” Signatures will be collected by Grassroots Ohio.

The amendment would allow farmers to grow industrial hemp, as well as allow adults (age 21 and older) to grow, transport, share and use marijuana for medicinal purposes. Craig Perlowin, Secretary of Hemp, Inc. commented, “Favorable legislation on industrial hemp is being reported almost weekly. More states are beginning to pass industrial hemp bills and measures. With Ohio putting a measure on the ballot that will allow Ohio farmers to grow hemp and Pennsylvania legislature working through final approvals legalizing industrial hemp research, it is evident that nothing can stop the hemp revolution. Our company is in such a good position. We are close to finishing America’s largest (and only) commercial-sized, hemp processing facility which will have the capability and capacity to process hemp in very large quantities. We just installed our massive 60-ft tall steel silo at our facility after being delayed weeks due to excessive rain.”

In Pennsylvania, the industrial hemp bill has been working its way through the House and Senate last week and is believed to soon be legal in Pennsylvania for the first time in decades. A representative from Gov. Tom Wolf’s office was quoted saying, “The (hemp) industry is growing, and allowing its growth in Pennsylvania would contribute to important research and the commonwealth’s economy.” Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) said, “Pennsylvania used to be a major hemp producer decades ago and I believe the state is looking forward to getting back to its roots.”

Bruce Perlowin, CEO of Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP), continued, “Let’s face it. The benefits of industrial hemp are undeniable which is why we are seeing more and more states pass industrial hemp bills. We’re seeing opportunities abound in the hemp industry. With each industrial hemp bill passed, we are keeping our shareholders informed. Hemp, Inc. will remain at the forefront of the industrial hemp industry with the largest commercial decorticating plant in the United States.”

“Every advancement in the industrial hemp industry reinforces Hemp, Inc.’s advantage in the marketplace because we are years ahead of the curve. For example, our portable decorticators can be purchased or leased in states such as Pennsylvania and Ohio, or any other state in America, to process hemp on site thus creating revenue for the local farmers and raw materials for Hemp, Inc’s marketing arm to sell to manufacturers for hemp products. Our subsidiary, Industrial Hemp Manufacturing, LLC (IHM), is also becoming known throughout the industry as a leader in this sector.”

ABOUT INDUSTRIAL HEMP
When it comes to environmental impact, industrial hemp is a crop that can actually give back to the earth. It takes less water to grow and process, is less polluting from pesticides and can actually help rebuild depleted soil. A hemp crop requires half the water alfalfa uses and can be grown without the heavy use of pesticides. According to a USDA report in 2000, industrial hemp is not very susceptible to widespread disease. Most contagion can be controlled through seed treatment before planting. Additional research has shown that industrial hemp can be used for phytoremediation of polluted environments and significantly detox toxic soil.

Hemp is a durable natural fiber that is grown as a renewable source for raw materials that can be incorporated into thousands of products. It’s one of the oldest domesticated crops known to man. Hemp is used as a nutritional food product for humans and pets, building materials, paper, textiles, cordage, organic body care and other nutraceuticals, just to name a few. It has thousands of other known uses.

HEMP, INC.’S TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE
Hemp, Inc. (OTC PINK: HEMP) seeks to benefit many constituencies from a “Cultural Creative” perspective, thereby not exploiting or endangering any group. CEO of Hemp, Inc., Bruce Perlowin, is positioning the company as a leader in the industrial hemp industry, with a social and environmental mission at its core. Thus, the publicly traded company believes in “up streaming” a portion of its profits back to its originator, in which some cases will one day be the American small farmer — cultivating natural, sustainable products as an interwoven piece of nature. By Hemp, Inc. focusing on comprehensive investment results — that is, with respect to performance along the interrelated dimensions of people, planet, and profits — the triple bottom line approach can be an important tool to support its sustainability goal.
